The Junior Superheroes Project – turning already super children into comic book superheroes. “We get to work with some amazingly strong, confident, determined optimistic children every single day. The beauty of the calendar project is that we’ve been able to let their inner super hero shine.  Who doesn’t want to be a superhero?” Craig Smith, Executive Director at Help Fill A Dream.

The Junior Superheroes Project is a joint effort between the Superheroes of Victoria Volunteer Society and the Help Fill A Dream Foundation with one simple goal: to turn already super children into comic book superheroes.

The beauty of the calendar project is that we’ve been able to let their inner super hero shine.

The result?  A 2018 calendar featuring children from Vancouver Island with some incredible stories of overcoming adversity. And the experience for everyone was involved was transformational.

“We wanted to provide a once-in-a-lifetime superhero experience. Each child received a tailored superhero outfit, custom photo shoot and a near-life-sized movie poster of them as their super alter-ego.”

All of the superheroes you’ll see in this calendar come from different backgrounds and have all overcome heart-breaking conditions and illness. But each one of these incredible kids have one feature in common: they all remained joyful and optimistic no matter what life throws at them. That is what makes them superheroes, we’re just providing the capes.” – Help Fill A Dream & Superheroes of Victoria

The Superheroes of Victoria

The Superheroes of Victoria are a free volunteer resource group available for charitable organizations and community groups to use. We are available to help raise money and awareness for charitable organizations, help with logistics and planning an event, or assist by providing extra hands during an event. Our local group organizes family-orientated events, volunteers at other externally-planned events, and promote volunteerism in our communities.

Help Fill A Dream Foundation

Help Fill A Dream provides hope, help and happiness to children 18 and under with life threatening conditions by fulfilling their Dreams and providing assistance to their families.

To date they have fulfilled over 2,200 Dreams.

While Help Fill A Dream is best known for fulfilling Dreams, they also offer support and services to these children and their families through their Family Assistance program and Quality of life program, which provide emergency financial aid to families immediately after a child’s diagnosis and help ill children with special equipment or modifications that allow for better care or mobility, respectively.
