Sistering is a dynamic trans-inclusive women’s 24/7 Drop In that offers practical and emotional support through programs that enable participants to take greater control over their lives. Sistering works to change the social conditions that endanger women’s welfare. The 24/7 drop-in is a low barrier and welcoming space for women with shared lived experience. Sistering’s philosophy is trauma-informed and based on principles of harm reduction and inclusiveness.
A world where all women, in all our diversity, are safe, respected, valued, and treated with dignity. All women have equitable opportunities to thrive and participate in inclusive communities.
We create a safe, welcoming and on-judgmental space for women. We are guided by principles of feminism, anti-racism and anti-oppression. We offer practical and emotional support to women who experience social isolation, homelessness or precarious housing, trauma and violence, discrimination, substance use or need for mental health support. Our equitable programs and services enable women to take greater control over their lives. We work in collaboration with others in the community to change the social conditions that endanger women’s welfare.
