Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society - BC Chapter

CPAWS-BC works to secure large, meaningful protected areas for land and seascapes across British Columbia, areas which shelter wildlife, nurse nature through climate change, and provide incredible recreational opportunities for all British Columbians.

1. CPAWS-BC works to protect the ocean and land by advocating for the creation of national park reserves, provincial parks, marine protected areas and other permanent areas where nature can thrive.
2. Our campaigns focus on protecting areas that are important to some of our most iconic species, like grizzly bears, caribou, and killer whales.
3. CPAWS-BC has thousands of members across the province and is part of a national network of organizations working together to protect a wild Canada.

Our vision is that British Columbia leads by example through protecting large landscapes and waterscapes. We envision a land of pristine lakes, vast caribou herds, and abundant wild salmon; we will share the land with magnificent predators like grizzly bears and wolves; and we will continue to enjoy the nearby natural landscapes in our daily lives.

Our mission is to protect land and water in parks, wilderness and similar natural areas, preserving diverse homes for all of the incredible fish, wildlife and plants of British Columbia. We will promote awareness and understanding of the relationships between people and nature.
