Non-Profit Student Program

We’re happy to announce that we piloted a new program this past summer — our Non-Profit Student Program. We were fortunate to have a Royal Roads communications student intern working with us on the project. The Non-Profit Student Program was designed to serve a few purposes. It provides students with practical communications experience, whilst allowing non-profits affordable solutions for their fundraising and communication projects.

Although our main goal is to help businesses connect with non-profits, we see our relationships with the non-profit sector as key to better serving our business clients. The Non-Profit Student Program allows us to continue to support charities and further strengthen relationships so that we can truly understand the needs of the sector. Thus allowing us to make more authentic and meaningful collaborations between businesses and non-profits.

At HeartPress PR, we’re often asked to work on charity projects with little to no budget. As much as we would like to help everyone, we’re not in the position to take on all of those projects. Therefore, our hope with this program is that we’ll be able to continue to assist non-profits by creating valuable mentorship for students.

How Does It Work?

Non-Profit organizations submit short projects (around 2 – 20 hours maximum). Approved projects are strategized and supervised by HeartPress PR professionals, and executed by the student.

Who is Eligible?

Non-profits are welcome to submit a project proposal. Project proposals are submitted via our short online form. The form helps us determine the scope of the project.

Students: We’re currently recruiting students to participate in the program. Students are asked to commit a minimum of 50 -70 volunteer hours throughout the year. Those hours include orientation, training, shadowing and project work. There is a formal interview process for the program and interested applicants can send their resume via email.

Any questions or comments? Please feel free to get in touch with us, we’d love to hear from you.
